We Value Application of Scripture “Teaching is for Life-Change” All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Are my priorities consistent with Scripture? We Value Personal Growth “Real followers of Jesus Grow” … grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ… 2 Peter 3:18 …train yourself to be godly. 1 Timothy 4:7 Am I growing in my relationship with God and others? We Value Growth Groups “Growing Larger and Smaller at the Same Time” They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship… And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had…They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved. Acts 2: 42-47 Am I in a Growth Group? We Value Service “Every Member is a Minister” “[God] is the one who gave these gifts to the church: … the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, …” Ephesians 4:11-12 Am I serving through the church at least one hour a month? We Value Relevance “Changing Methods… Unchanging Message” … I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22 Am I living out my faith in the real world? We Value Unity and Diversity “Focusing on the Things that Unite Us, Not the Things that Divide Us” “So let us concentrate on the things which make for harmony, and on the growth of our fellowship together.” Romans 14:19 Am I speaking positively about my church at every opportunity? We Value People “People Matter to God” “So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you; then God will be glorified.” Romans 15:7 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 Am I investing in and inviting others to church? Am I sharing my faith? | Values & Beliefs don’t matter much, unless they radically affect the way you live your life.
